of losing hair.

Hey all,
Its been 6 odd hours since we have finished out last rehearsal, and in 9 hours time,Helena will be busting our balls again.(Well at the moment, only mine) ..The best part about it is,apart from the killer warm ups,the pilates, the running around and all..We get to enjoy interacting with one another.
Seeing the guys from day one, well i knew most of them.Being the "unbendy" person in the group i taught i was going to die. I mean day one we were moving all around and i almost had no clue. Then Helena cut my hair and hey!
I found out being bald made me move a lot better,do all the crazy kickass moves and enjoy it with the guys.So that's the secret to physical theatre.

BALD YOURSELF.

The voice of the storyteller.....

My name is Maya.I've always loved fairytales.Maybe its because I've always been a dreamer.Maybe its because I always believed that its better to be a fake somebody instead of a real nobody. Its better to be a somebody.always better to be a somebody...and in fairytales, everybody is a somebody.even the bad guys.

My life at home was never really a thrill. I always thought about leaving and making it big in the city. KL~the big city of dreams;but nothing is as it seems.I thought I was going to finally make it when I arrived in KL.I was amazed when I first got here. The lights, huge buildings, and the people.EVERYBODY was a somebody!Everybody walked with purpose, direction. I am going to be a somebody too!I thought I was going to be a somebody~go far, do big things, make money.

But now that I am here,I can't even remember the small things I used to enjoy....like the last time I had a decent meal.A plate of hot rice, lamb curry and vege would be perfect now.I can just taste it.....Nothing tastes like how I remember it is supposed to taste.

Horror. That's what being here feels like right now.A damned horror. I can only hope that this child I carry will not have to go through this horror I am in.

I hope;I hope that this child wont have to go through this.

Maybe this child should not even be born.

Fairytales Come Alive...

Good morning to all!

It's such a cloudy day today and I love it. I wish that all days begin like this. Sigh....

But anyway, down to business.

The Grimm cast will be posting up stuff on the blog from time to time. However, at times, you will see posts from the characters in the show. Think of it as an introduction to A Grimm Fairytale and also the characters themselves.

The actors were given the task of writing monologues and a bio data for their character building. As characters, they will be telling you their inner most thoughts, how they feel towards the different situations that they go through and the relationships with each other. Read what each fairytale has to say and then, come for the show and watch them in action.

On that note, you should also know that aside from the stories of Little Red Cap (Little Red Riding Hood), Rapunzel and Hansel & Gretel, there is another fourth storyline about a pregnant young woman living alone in a lonely house, who narrates the fairytales to her unborn child. Her name is Maya. Learn more about her when she posts her story up.

So, there you have it. Be ready to read their stories soon. Hopefully, each character will seem a little bit more real to you when you watch them on stage during the show.

Thank you and have a good day. *wink*

of naziness + aching backs

in one months time, i am THIS confident that all 7 of us (minus the 2 parents - Helena + Reuben) will be able to sprint up those 101 stairs up to the AD studio without even breaking a sweat after breaks. or not :P

after those neo-nazi workouts by none other than Dictator Mao Foo Foo, I think I can speak from all of us in the cast when I say "If we don't get fit after this.. FAIL"

so yes, bring on the sweat, the aching backs and the nazi work-outs.

WE ARE ON YO!

*For real-life proof, walk by the office & take a look at Sesha's skinny face. you like? :D

A few words...

If I were to wait for someone to post something up, the show'll be over. So I'm gonna put up a few words on rehearsals and the cast first and hopefully, everyone'll soon start following suit.

The cast of A Grimm Fairytale are a very young and energetic bunch. I say energetic because they really are like a bunch of children who need constant attention and entertainment. Rehearsals only begin once they've calmed down and believe me, with the amount of noise and speed they play in sometimes, it's no easy task. Reuben (stage manager) and I do feel like parents most of the time but usually, by the end of rehearsals, we are really proud parents.

However, I'd have to say though, if they weren't the way they are, the show wouldn't be half as good or half as interesting. Every single person in the cast is a character on their own. Coming from vastly different backgrounds, each of them bring a certain something to A Grimm Fairytale that is priceless and definitely irreplaceable.

I suppose the nature of this play requires that particular childishness. Therefore, as much as I will pull my hair out for saying this, I am glad that the Grimm's cast have that kid-like charm in their natural states. Rehearsals are never boring. Lol.
